I always found the idea of New Year's Resolutions to be kind of gimmicky. Everyone always makes the same ones: "lose weight" or "get in shape" or "write a novel". Something vague like that. They sound great when you make them, but look at those goals again. None of them actually have criteria, or mile-markers, or concrete motivation. They're just never going to happen.
