Today we're talking about daily planning

I guess I haven't technically been using a weekly spread lately. I've been living on a page per day and thriving on the space. It's also made me think a lot about why daily spreads work for me.

I don't really need a whole daily spread for every day of my life, but I definitely find that if I need to get something (or a lot of things) done in a day, then writing it down as a longer list of smaller tasks works best for me, and having a nice daily spread is a great way to do that.

I've also resigned myself to the fact that I'm just a morning-of planner. I've tried setting up my day the night before, but I usually find that planning my day in the morning allows me to better gauge my energy and motivation for the day, and then pick the priorities I can realistically tackle that particular day.

(It looks like I'm definitely in the minority here though, how about you?)

My Favorite Dailies

Continuing the theme, but I actually got this video topic from a channel poll, so I guess dailies are a topic you all like too.

I went through my planner pages from the last year or more and highlighted the things in a daily spread that really work for me.

I'd love to hear what you appreciate in a daily.

My current setup

For the last while, I've been using a weekly to-do list on a foldout, with a day per page for the week.

(It's definitely bulky, but) I've really liked the functionality of it.

Next month I'm tweaking things just a bit, but I'm definitely still using the foldout!

This is feeling like a short summer!

Our toddler is starting school in a mere four weeks, which still blows my mind! I can feel a lot of change on the horizon in several areas of my life, but not to the point that it's actionable to me yet.

So for now, my planning is focused on small projects, and practicing good time management for when it's going to be vital in the near future.

I hope your summer is going well, and that your planner is fitting your life right now. Talk to you soon!
